Jerome Slaughter was born in January 1898 to Joseph Allen and Catherine (Mullen) Slaughter. He died on July 26, 1908 in Ridgway, Colorado, when he was dragged by a burro. He is buried next to his mother Catherine in Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle. His grave is unmarked.
