Biography
Edward was born 10 Aug 1814. His father was John Sloan.
Edward was married twice. Caroline Rosborough (1821–1847), Edward's first wife passed away in 1847. They had one child together.
In 1850, Edward M. Sloan is living alone, which suggests that he had also lost his son John L. Sloan.
It is likely these two losses explain Edward M. Sloan's migration in the 1850's to Mississippi, where he remarried and raised a large family." His new wife was Margaret Nelson Wiseman-Sloan (1838–1918)
Edward Martin Sloan Sr., passed away 24 Oct 1888. He was buried at the Elwood Cemetery, in Madison County, Texas, USA
