Nita was born on August 6, 1928, to Faye and Lillie Sloan in Blackwell, OK. She was married to Bernerd Briscoe on December 31, 1950 in Stillwater, OK. She was a lifelong resident of Mustang, OK, where she and Bernerd operated Briscoe's L.P. Gas Company for 48 years before retiring. Jo enjoyed square dancing, softball, bowling and she was also active with the Bronco Unit of the India Shrine Temple. She is survived by her husband, Bernerd and four daughters, Terrea Price, Karen Roberts, Janet Latham and Sandra Briscoe. Also by twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Delford and Roger Sloan; four sisters, Theta Jean McGinty, Wanda Schmidt, Aleta Rae Shetley and Glenna Wilkerson. Also by numerous other family and friends. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2000 at 10 AM at Mustang Assembly of God Church with interment following in Mustang Cemetery under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service. Daily Oklahoman, The (Oklahoma City, OK) - Monday, August 21, 2000.
