Move to new person
Another Elias Solar was an army invalid who died on 24 May 1917 in New York.[1][2]
As time permits I ( DESloat ) will move accurate parts of these sources to a new profile.
Error Avoidance
As noted: there are two different Elias Sloats. Though the one in this profile was born in New York, he had a family in Iowa. There is an amazing Elias Lester Sloat listed in FindAGrave Memorial 67886194. This second Elias is a different person than the Elias Sloat in this profile.
This profiled Elias Sloat has children born and buried in Iowa. And he has a FindAGrave in nearby Utah.
Also, this "other" Elias Sloat entry lists two wives - Mary Elizabeth Kromer Sloat and Helen M. Eno Sloat. The wife reported in records by the Iowa family (and other Iowa local genealogists) and in FindAGrave is Polly Angeline (Augustus) Sloat

email string between Kristi Hillers-Archer and DESloat
email from Kristi Hillers-Archer to DESloat dated 6 Aug 2010. Subject: re Elias Sloat Photo ( included photo (with names/births added)). I copied the picture and added the names my best guess would be of who the children are. Polly is holding the baby which has to be Elmer (he married Alice Hoover and had two children that I can find. Most of them are either in LeGrande Iowa or Marshalltown, Iowa cemeteries). I have not found any information on Letson, Alice, and Florence yet. But I will send you all the info on Frances in the next few days. (gotta get ready for work. :) ) More later Kristi Archer Lincoln, NE
email from DESloat to Kristi Hillers-Archer. Subject: RE: DESloat Freepages link Date: Fri, 6 Aug 2010 12:21:12 -0700 Here are the letter and photo I received way back when... The hand-written numbers are my notations of the ID # in my database. The other hand-written information is from Joan Sloat Payne. The photo is actually a photograph - so I tried to scan it at high resolution, but apparently I had a wrong setting and the .jpg file is not readable - I'll try again later. I will also try to find other information related to this branch that is not on my WorldConnect/Ancestry pages and get it for you. Looking forward to hearing more about your line. David E. Sloat
