Research Notes

The following notes appear to relate not to Shadrack but possible to his father? Should they be moved?

A William Slone witnessed a deed action [when?] for Joseph Reynolds. I [who?] suspect the same Wm. [father of Shadrack?] since Joseph is future father-in-law of Shadrack Hall Slone.

Mildred Slone Ferrin list him as Hiram and states that he and Mary Alice Sizemore came from Patrick Co., Virginia.[citation needed] Consensus is that William and Alice came with 4 sons from Virginia to Caney Creek, Kentucky.[citation needed] Could Alexander & John be his brothers?? There was a William Sloan in Patrick Co. Va with many land transactions.[citation needed] However, I attribute these to the Wm. that m. Matilda Burnett and settled in Wayne Co. KY. Sons Shadrack & Isham were in Patrick Co. So probably 2 William Sloans there. Father & son?? f.e.m. [who is f.e.m.?]

Richard W. Gartee's website list another son William B. Slone that m. Nancy Watson 20 Dec 1859, Floyd Co. Ky. Wm. was a widow. also a dau Judy Slone that m. William Anderson 16 Sep 1816. [citation needed]

Most researchers seem to agree that Alice had 3 sons when she m. William and Hiram is the only true Slone. I should point out that I've don't have any documented evidence that Wm. Hiram Sloan existed at all in Floyd Co. Ky!! where is he documented in Ky. ?? f.e.m.

Dec 2008: Diane Slone Homburg list him as "Hi" Slone. Sources:

1. Census 1810: Floyd Co. Ky. Pg. 102 [widow Mary - 11000 0000100]
2. 1996 research of Darleen P. Flanagan, 1302 East Allen Rd. apt #3, Tucson, AZ 85719 [all]
3. "The Sloan Family Genealogy" by Mildred Slone Ferrin, Draper, UT, 1986 [listed as Hiram Slone, spouse, 4
