Hi Bertram!

Thanks for your contributions to Puritan Great Migration (PGM) project profiles.

Like all WikiTree projects we check in with team members periodically to find out about their continued interest in the project. Would you please respond by February 5, 2024, to let us know about your interest:

  1. Would you like to continue as a PGM project team member?;
  2. Do you have any suggestions for PGM Project priorities in the next year (optional)?;
  3. Do you have interest in taking a more active role within the PGM project, and if so, what you might be interested in doing (optional)?

Please respond to this comment on your profile, or if you'd like, send a private message to either Bobbie (Madison) Hall or S (Hill) Willson.

Thanks for all you do for PGM and WikiTree!

Regards,

Bobbie and Sharon, Co-Leaders, Puritan Great Migration Project

Hi Bertram, it's been 17 days since I asked if you're still interested in the PGM Project. I apologize if I've missed a response from you, but I'll assume if I haven't heard from you in the next seven days that your interest in the project has changed, and I'll remove your badge. I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.

We haven't heard back from you regarding the PGM Project check-in so we've gone ahead and removed you from the project for now. If you’d like to rejoin at any stage you would be most welcome to do so by answering the G2G sign-up post here.

Dear Germany Project member,

it's annual check-in time 2023. If you still wish to remain a member of the Germany Project, please reply to this post, by stating this intention. If we don’t hear from you in the next 30 days, your membership badge will be removed. In this case please don't be offended ... you're welcome to rejoin at any time. Please also note, that in order to receive help, with researching your German ancestors, membership is not mandatory. Just ask your questions in the G2G forum and tag them with Germany in order for knowledgeable people to see them.

If you wish to remain a member, we would like to learn more about your perception of the Germany Project in order to achieve a future development according to our members needs and wishes. For this, we created a survey, which we kindly ask you to fill-in.

In case you want to communicate, discuss and receive help about WikiTree in German, you might want to check out the WikiTree category at Compgen’s Discourse as well as the German Discord server Ahnenforschung.

Of course there’s still the official WikiTree Discord server, where we usually talk English. Feel free to learn more about Discord and the server at Help:Discord.

Kind regards from Black Forest

Hi,

It’s Germany Project check-in time again! Please respond within the next 2 weeks and let me know if you’re still interested in participating with the Project. Remember, the only requirements for membership in the Germany Project are (1) that you work on at least one German profile every 6 months and (2) that you respond to this check-in.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. In your response, we welcome any feedback you may want to give on the project (what you like about it, what you’d like to see us do, what we could change, etc.)

If you ever have any questions, please ask. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi Bertram,

We're so happy to see you are still active on WikiTree and caring about the Dutch profiles. The Dutch Roots Project is looking forward to give the project a new fresh start to put the Dutch in a more prominent place on the WikiTree map. The project is currently managing over 50,000 profiles and the total number of Dutch profiles on WikiTree exceeds 500,000! Within the project we are monitoring the quality of the Dutch profiles and assisting other WikiTreers in producing those profiles. We would love to pick up some other tasks but to do so we need more volunteers. This is why we check in with the members of the DRP to see if you would like to help us expand.

1) Would you like to do some volunteer work for the Dutch Roots Project? 2) If yes, what kind of work would you prefer to do within the Dutch Roots Project? E.g. translating, sourcing, or something else you want to work on?

We hope for a positive reaction but please don't feel obliged to volunteer. We just want to have a group of persons we can ask to help us with certain activities

Kind regards,

Margreet, on behalf of the Dutch Roots Project

Hi Bertram!

Like all WikiTree projects we check in with team members twice per year and it's that time again. Please respond within the next two weeks to let me know:

  1. If you'd like to continue as a PGM project team member. I've noticed that you haven't posted any edits or comments in the last 6 months to PGM profiles so it might be a good time to re-evaluate your likely participation level in the future.
  2. If you're happy with the team you're on (Research and/or Profile Improvement) or if you'd like to make a change
  3. Optionally, what you like since the reboot back in May or what you think could be improved. This could be something about Discord, or Google Groups, or managed profile spreadsheets, or challenge participation or really anything. If you like everything the way it is, you can let me know that too :)

If you'd like to tell me about a particular project or family you're working on, I'd love to hear about that as well.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks!

Hi Bertram,

Removing PPP from all not notable post 1811 profiles managed by the Netherlands project

As a first step in our quest for a more managable list of project managed profiles. We are going to review all post 1811 Project Protected Profiles. Every profile from this period which is not a notable profile will lose it's PPP-status.

Our reason for this measure is to get a list which conforms to the WikiTree rules for PPP's (wikitree uses a 200 years limit) We use 1811 becausee it is the start of the civil registration.

Hi/Hoi Bertram!

We really need you this time! If you have time, please help.

WT is organizing weekly challenges this year under the name: “Year of Accuracy” We worked on many before but next week will be special.

If you like it or not, we need your help this week just to show what we as DRP are capable of - starting on Wednesday the 9th of June and it is during a week after, starts probably late for us Dutch (after midnight) - the challenge is to bring down brick walls for Dutch genealogist Yvette Hoitink.

She did great research on her family. This challenge is about showing we can do better!

We have, of course, already DRP members joining the challenge, but most participants are Americans. They will need help on translations, finding reliable sources, Dutch Naming Conventions (as we will dive into profiles before 1811 and probably need to use patronymics and never use Middle Names) and adding biographies. We are sure foreigners need help. And learn lots because of this challenge but they need some help from us.

Please, your help is much appreciated.

Hello Bertram,

Thanks for creating pre-1700 profiles like Berber Sibles (abt.1625-), Sible Diurres (abt.1660-), Sime Diurres (abt.1585-abt.1640), Antie Dircks (abt.1605-1649), Trijn Dircks (abt.1605-), Jantsen Dircks (abt.1610-), Seerp Dircks (abt.1560-), Lyudts Hayes (abt.1560-), Eelke Seerps (abt.1590-), Sijtske Seerps (abt.1590-), and Sybe Seerps (abt.1595-).

However, in the case of all these (unlike others you created), the only source provided is genealogieonline.nl which is a tree and not a source in and of itself. Please work with the Dutch Roots project you assigned it to to find a reliable source.

If you have questions or need help with any of this, please let me know.

Thanks.
