Biography

Jack Franklin Smallwood was born on November 19, 1927, in Pilot Point, Texas, he was adopted by Vernon, 46 and Dadie, 36. He married Vera Jo Langley and they had one son together. Jack was remanded to the Huntsville Prison in Huntsville, Walker County, Texas, 3 Feb 1949 for Forgery in Jefferson County, Texas. He received a 4-year sentence serving from 3 Feb 1949 to 17 Dec 1950 where he was enlisted into the Coast Guard. He was discharged on 15 May 1951. Vera Jo divorced him during his incarceration. He then married Bertie Jane Horn and they had one son together. He died on April 2, 1964, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 36, and was buried in Carrollton, Texas.
