According to a nephew, Ivory Arthur Smiley, Nancy's family moved to Floyd County, Kentucky from Washington County, Virginia in 1867 through the Pound-Gap. Ivory says they first lived at Mud Creek, Harold, KY and moved to Prater Creek.[1] Nancy is enumerated with her family in the 1870[2] and 1880 censuses in Floyd County.[3]
According to a descendant, she married Hezekiah Crum ca 1887 in Floyd County and the couple had ten children before she died in 1906.[4]
