Esther Smith, daughter of Thomas Smith and Tamar Williams, was born on 18 April 1768 at Jewett City (Norwich), New London Co., Connecticut. ^[1]

She married Luther Stewart, son of Paul Stewart and Jerusha Spencer, on 18 March 1784 at Blandford, Hampden County, Massachusetts.^[1]
