Born ABT 1879. Kentucky, United States. Note: See marriage note. [1]
Note: Charles Kemper Smith was thought to be the father of Harold W Smith by all of Harold's children. It was in about 2003, shortly before he died, that Harold told Valorie that he never knew who his father was and it was NOT Charles K. Smith. He said he had always had "a hole in his heart" because of this. I am writing this on May 28, 2016 and have still not been able to figure out anything pertaining to this mystery. The census records seem to confirm this, but no records have been found of a divorce, death or whatever of Charles K. Smith.
