Albert Victor Smith was born on 1 December 1885 in Carlton, Victoria, Australia [1], the son of William Smith and Charlotte Baker and the brother of Thomas William Smith, Sarah Ann Smith, Mary Jane Smith, Georgina Smith, William Henry Smith, Victoria Hannah Smith, George Baker Smith, John James Smith, Charlotte Smith, Emma Adelaide Smith, Arthur Burton Smith, Thomas Hubert Smith and Percival Ernest Smith.

He married Ethel May Sharpe on 2 June 1909 in Victoria, Australia [2] and two of their children were Leslie Brougham Smith and Alma May Smith.

Albert died, aged 73 years, at Hallett, South Australia, Australia [3] and was buried on 27 November 1959 in the Hallett Cemetery, Hallett, South Australia, Australia [4].
