Ione Smith was born on 4 Feb 1890 in Odebolt, Sac, Iowa, United States, the daughter of John Smith and Rachel Keister. She married Erwin W Scott on 25 Dec 1910 in Sac, Iowa, USA. She died 7 Feb 1968 in Harlingen, Cameron, Texas, United States.[1]

She was a very independent women, caring for her family at times when her husband was traveling away from home.
She lived in the following places: Smith Family Farm Odebolt, Sac. Cty, IA; Scott Family Farm Flint, MI; Houston, TX; Harlingen, TX (Rangerville Road); Los Fresnos, TX; Brownsville, TX; Lyford, TX and Harlingen, TX.
She had two sisters: Hilda and Ruth Pearl.
Ione passed away on 7 Feb 1968 at age 79. and is buried in the Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Harris, TX[3]
