"Here are the names in a CW pension file for Enoch Cox Smith that I kindly received through email. You can check the census for their locations and maybe spot an area for them. The names of neighbors and/or acquaintances in these papers are Sarah/Sallie A. Young or Cooksey, 1st wife; Nancy E. Young, 2nd wife; her parents Charlie and Polly Cooksey Young; James H. Appleby of Whetstone, 35 year neighbor; Enoch's daughters married Davis, Thurman, Lackey; L.G. Campbell; W.S. Smith; Lavinia Campbell, wife of Alexander on 1850 census Clinton Co.; John Young, 30 year neighbor to Enoch before and after Civil War; JAMES R. MACKEY, knew Nancy Young Smith for 50 years, present at her marriage. I think they're all basically in Cumberland Co. near Burkesville, but that border with Clinton tends to smudge. Did that border line ever get changed once or twice? Maybe someone out there knows."[1]
