Note: There was some speculation that he was a son of Richard Smith and Rebecca Buswell. I just posted this on Richard's profile, "The children of Richard and Rebecca Buswell Smith are listed as (TAG 25 page 126)

  1. Richard (1617-1690);
  2. Susannah (1624-1692);
  3. Mary (1627- );
  4. Joseph (1629-1673);
  5. Abigail (1632- ); and
  6. Jonathan (1635-aft 1711).

I think Nicholas and Rebecca need to be removed as children without supporting documentation. "

I posted a document, of Nicholas being son of a Richard Smith, so I know his father is a Richard Smith. The correct one has to be found. There is a book, "Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire" page 645 that has Nicholas Smith a few notes on him. I'm not active much any more, so if anyone wants to look it up and find more out. Nicholas Smith is my 10th GGF, that's all I know.

Nicholas has been disconnected from Richard, but not from Rebecca. He needs disconnected from her too.

I suggest this is a better fit if he was born in Reading

Nicolas, son of Rich Smith, was baptised on 15 May 1629 in Saint Giles, Reading, Berkshire, England.<ref> Baptism: "England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975"

Smith-72552 and Smith-5493 appear to represent the same person because: Please consider a merge of Smith-72552 and Smith-5493 as they appear to be duplications.

Evelyn McKelvey (Murray-2307)

This profile needs to be removed as a son of Richard and Rebecca Buswell Smith for lack of documentation.

After that, this profile needs to be merged into Smith-5493.

Smith-126915 and Smith-5493 appear to represent the same person because: Same dates, wife of Smith-5493 is mentioned on other profile.
hi! he wouldn't be the father of Elizabeth who married (1) Spiltimber, (2) Hill. She is of Virginia, not New England.

I do not think we have documentary evidence that Nicholas was a son of Rebecca Buswell Smith. I am disconnecting these parents for lack of documentation. I believe the FindAGrave transcription is in error. Please provide documentation before reconnecting parents for Nicholas. Thank you!
