Biography

Charles Sidney Smith was the youngest of the 13 children of Amos and Elizabeth Smith. Census records show him living with his parents at age 13 in the 1892 New York census and listed under his middle name Sidney.

Charles Sidney was born about 1879. He passed away in 1919.

THE EVENING LEADER, CORNING, N. Y„ TUESDAY, JANUARY 7, 1919 Charles Sidney Smith, aged 40 years, died this morning at 7 o'clock in Tompkins Corners after a short illness of pneumonia and influensa. Mr. Smith was born in the town of Campbell. He was a farmer by occupation. He formerly resided in this city. He is survived by his wife, one son Harry T. and one daughter, Mildred, six brothers, Austin, David, Isaiah, Pomeroy and Edwin Smith of this city and Sylvester of Coopers Plains and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor of this city and Mrs. Hattle Bennett of Yates County. The funeral arrangements have not been completed but interment will take place at Coopers.
