Donald was born in 1902. He was a farmer in Leeds Township, most likely Lemesurier, since I know that is where his daughter Jean Lorraine, my Mom, was born, at home. He was an engineer at the time of his marriage. The details are unknown.
He moved to Sherbrooke on Jacques-Cartier Boulevard, and spent his last years on the second floor of the redbrick two doors south from the corner of Portland Blvd. My first memory is of seeing him (most likely) on Father's Day, 1964. He was smiling as we said goodbye. He passed away a few months later.

The first memory I have was almost certainly on Father's Day, 1964. I remember looking up at the smiling face and bald head of Mom's dad, Donald. I remember the layout of his apartment on the second floor of a redbrick duplex two doors down from the corner of Portland Blvd, and Jacques-Cartier Blvd. I remember the kitchen we were in and the stair on the east side. I remember also being in the parking lot on the way to mom's car, and I must have sat in front, because I remember the clear blue sky as we headed south on Jacques-Cartier. I was 3 years and 3 months old. Eternally grateful to remember because he died less than 3 months later.
