Biography

Mercy Smith was born January 22, 1762 in Harwich (now named Brewster), Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay, New England. Her parents were John Smith, b: 1736, son of Nathaniel Smith; and his wife, Elizabeth (Eldredge) Smith, b: 1736, also in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay, New England.

On April 21, 1811, in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts, Mercy Smith married widower, Elisha Snow II, b: 4 Nov. 1745, in Harwich, Massachusetts Bay. They had no children together; Elisha Snow had 7 (some say 10) grown children. He died on February 20, 1826, and was buried next to his 1st wife, Elizabeth (Snow) Snow, at the Harwich First Congregational Church Cemetery, Harwich, Massachusetts, USA.

Mercy (Smith) Snow survived her husband's passing. Her exact death date is not known at this time but she no doubt passed away after 1826 in Harwich (Brewster), Massachusetts, where she lived her entire life.
