Catherine Mary Ann (Smith) Dawe South African 1820 Settler and Descendants

Catherine Mary Ann Smith was born in Graaff Reinet on 19 September 1846.[1][2]

Her parents were James Smith and Susan Burton Spiller[3]

She married [[Dawe-559|William Nicholas Dawe in Graaff-Reinett on 21 July 1869. [2]

She was present at the wedding of her daughter Emma Maude Dawe in Port Elizabeth in 1903. [4].

She had two other children: Jessie Constance Dawe and Effie Cherer Dawe.[5][6]

Catherine Mary Ann Dawe (born Smith) died at 97 Albert Street Rosettenville on 8 March 1923.[7]

She signed her name Kate Dawe (born Smith) in the1820 Settlers' Centenary register.[8]
