Grandparents names - Smith, William; O'Brien, Flavia. Ruano, Manuel; Peck, Cleo My father's family was broken up after Flavia's death. I have only met my father's siblings. Recently, I located Flavia's gravesite and found Minnie and Walter O'Brien. This was all I needed after 20 years of questioning where my family came from... and just how Irish am I? LOL... I was lucky to have 4 years with my grandfather, Manuel, before he passed in 1982. My grandmother, Cleo, passed before I was born, I believe around 1972. I super excited to see what new information I can find : ) The name Smith had made finding clues in the past a little difficult, but any bit I can learn about my ancestors and family is truly exciting.

Paternal side great great grandparents, James and Hannah Eagan.. would like some sort of confirmation though. Parents of my great grandmother Florence, who was mother to William Alden Smith, husband of Flavia (my grandmother).
Grandmother, Flavia, passed in 1949, mother of my father born 1947. Flavia's parents Walter and Minnie Mae (Vanderwalker) also pased 1947-1948. Curious to know if anyone remembers my grandmother or if there's any photos or stories to share. If she was anything like my father then she was amazing.
Maternal name, grandfather Manuel Came to the US in 1919 on the Montevideo. The names of siblings and parents changed and it's been a challenge finding the history in Malaga Spain, which is where he was born in 1913. I believe my great grandmother was Margarita, possible Margaret in the US. Great grandfather was 'John' but I found records of Manuel Jose Juan Ruano.. can't be sure if it's a match. Siblings of my grandfather are 'John' or Juan, and 'Jennie' but my mom remebers Marie, 1919 sh
My grandfather, William A. Smith, married to my grandmother, Flavia O'brien, is a mystery to me. I know my father's 5 siblings but that is where it ends. The name Smith makes the research challenging, what I know is Michigan was his residence at one time. Interested to know if any of the million Smith's out there are related.
Minnie Mae Vanderwalker was my great grandmother on my father side. Married to Walter O'Brien and lived in the Port Huron Michigan area. Trying to find anyone that may have known my grandmother Flavia Smith, or great grandparents Walter or Minnie.

I added a few of your Smith relatives, but am stuck on Daniel Smith-152013

He appears to have been Seventh Day Adventist near the end of his life.

P.S. Consider editing your tags so they can be more useful to you. For example, try replacing PECK_RUANO with two separate tags, PECK and RUANO. Good luck!

Hi Jaime,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
