MARY'S SLATE HEADSTONE WAS FOUND BY SIMEON SMITH ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1994 IN THE SMITH'S CEMETERY IN PAWTUXET, RHODE ISLAND. SEE REMINGTON SMITH'S NOTES FOR THE LOCATION OF THIS CEMETERY. SEE PHOTO OF HEADSTONE IN FILE. INSCRIPTION OF HEADSTONE READS "IN MEMORY OF MARY, DAUGHTER OF SIMEON & MARTHA SMITH, SHE DEPARTED THIS LIFE FEB 14 TH, 1794, IN THE 20 TH YEAR OF HER AGE." THIS SAME INSCRIPTION, WAS FOUND IN A BOOK TITLED "CEMETERIES OF WARWICK, RHODE ISLAND BY ARNOLD, VOL 3, PAGE 9". THIS BOOK WAS FOUND IN THE PROVIDENCE , RHODE ISLAND HISTORICAL SOCIETY LIBRARY.
