Melba Rita Smith (married name Spring) was born on 28 July 1910 in New Zealand, the daughter of Christina Smith and Alexander David Smith.[1][2]

She married David Thomas Spring in 1936 in New Zealand.[3]

David died in December 1990.[4]

Melba died on 19 October 1993 in New Zealand.[2][5] Her remains were interred at Kelvin Grove Cemetery in Palmerston North, New Zealand.[5]
