BATH COUNTY LAND AND PROPERTY, DEED BOOK L, page 345

Memorandum of Contract bargain Sale and Conveyance made and executed Mar. 1, 1841 in which JAMES STANDCLIFF of Bath County, Kentucky for the sum of $225 received of MICHAEL SMITH of Bath County, Kentucky conveyed the following property: One Bay filly One sorrel coult one cow and calf Fifteen head of Sheep Fifty head of Geese Four Hogs Two cribs of corn One Bureau one Table one clock Two Beds and Bedding Two Bedsteads six chairs Two Ten gallon Kettles and one side saddle. Benjamin Sudduth certified the deed of conveyance and entered it into record Mar. 1, 1841. Marginal note indicates the property was delivered on March 6, 1841.

BATH COUNTY LAND AND PROPERTY, DEED BOOK P, page 263 This indenture made and entered Sept. 21, 1848 in which WILLIAM MOORE and DOLLY his wife, JAMES STANCLIFF and SUSAN his wife, ISAAC GARNER and MARGARET his wife, of Bath County, Kentucky for the sum of $300.00 sold to PHILIP WILLIAMS a parcel of land which was "one equal seventh part each of the farm belonging to heirs Michael Smith deceased in the County and State aforesaid which they accrued of the estate....". The property described as Beginning at Kingsend Caldwells SE Corner and bounded by various marked trees. Signed by all of the grantees with only James and Sussanah making a mark. The Clerk of Court declared that all of the grantees had appeared before him to acknowledge the deed which was entered into record Sept. 21, 1848.

It appears that William Moore with wife, Dolly; Isaac Garner and wife, Margaret; and James Standcliffe with wife, Susannah each owned a 1/7 part of the land that belonged to Michael Smith. My husband's gg grandmother, Mary Catherine Smith Foland would make another child. Who were the other 3 children?
