[2][5]
Her mother sent her brother John to stay with them in West Virginia. John drove a team of horses. Although she confiscated his money, he escaped back to New Jersey by riding a freight train.
[6]
She was (apparently) ill before Sonny's birth, and her niece Frances cared for her. Frances also worked for her boarders, including packing their lunch, filling their pails with water, and cooking for them.
[7]
In 1920, she and Emilian were living in Chatham, West Virginia, with her niece Frances.
[8]
Frances again cared for her when she was ill in New York, and did her janitorial work for her.
[9]
In 1925, Emilian and Lottie were living at 157 Stanton Street, New York County, New York, with their three children.
(The census reports their names as 'Alex' and 'Larry', but the children's names match, and the address matches Emilian's address in 1930, 157-1/2 Stanton Street.)
[10]
In 1927, she and Emilian and their children were living at 157-1/2 Stanton Street, New York City.

Lottie died on 17 March 1930, allegedly at her home, 83 Railroad Avenue, Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey. She was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, Bergen County, New Jersey.[12][13][14][15]
After her death, on 7 April 1930, Emilian and the children were still living at 157-1/2 Stanton Street, New York City, which was a boardinghouse with 33 people (16 families).
