DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Hezekiah by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Hezekiah:

I believe this Hezekiah Smith may have been in Sussex Co., NJ, as early as 1754, if he and his wife were the early members of the First Baptist Church of Wantage, in Sussex Co.. This account says they were baptized by immersion in water about 1754. See: https://www.usgenwebsites.org/NJSussex/pdf-files/Baptist-1-41-Search.pdf. (History of the First Baptist Church of Wantage, Sussex, New Jersey, rev. by Rev. George F Love, 1874 and by Rev. James Bristol, 1903, p1.) (I have been researching members of this church, especially Rodolphus Fuller, his brother Elkanah Fuller, Rev Wm Marsh and William Southworth.)

A note about Mary Smith...she could have been Mary Smith maiden name and wife. There were plenty of Smith families about.

In family genealogy/history, we have him married to a Mary (unknown last name) but marriage date December 25, 1735. I am not questioning the accuracy of your account, but might it somehow tie in with the Sarah Hull that I might correct the family history? Hezekiah Smith, b. 3-Jun-1714 in Hempstead, NY, d. 6-Oct-1801 in Piscataway, Middlesex Co., NJ. He married Mary () Smith, married 25-Dec-1735 in Hempstead, NY.

Children: i Esther Smith b. 16-Jan-1746, d. 9-May-1799.

571. Mary () Smith

thanks.

Being of somewhat sound mind and body, yet lacking in sufficient patience at this juncture, I bequeath the following, for the search of the identity of Hezekiah Smith's first wife Mary, http://archive.org/stream/cu31924029771726/cu31924029771726_djvu.txt
