Biography
Dorothy Smith was born in 1903, the daughter of George Smith.[1][2]
On the 6th September 1924, she married Cyril Steuart Tennent in St Alban's church, South Norwood, Surrey.[3][4] The marriage ended sometime before 1944, when Dorothy remarried to George F. Devaliant.[5]
Dorothy Devaliant, formerly Tennent, née Smith, died in Wallasey, Merseyside, in 1975, aged seventy-two years.[6]

Identification of parents:—Dorothy's father, George Smith, was formerly a resident of South Norwood but lived in Wallasey, Cheshire, c.1924.[1] As there appear to have been several Dorothy Smiths born in Croydon registration district during the first decade of the 20th century, and several George Smiths who died in Wallasey, Cheshire, recommend purchase of the civil registration of either or both marriages. ~Kilpatrick-1128 (2018-09-17)
