The daughter of James Smith and Harriot Mitchel, Caroline Smith was born in Hull, East Yorkshire in around 1830. She was baptised at Sculcoates on 30 April 1830.[1]
On 25 Feb 1855 in Sculcoates she married Thomas Abraham Gaunt (1820 - 1913) [2] It gives her age as 25 and her father as being James Smith, Mariner.
Thomas and Caroline Gaunt had 10 children: 1 Harriet (b1856) 2 Mary Anne (b1858) 3 Elizabeth (b1860) 4 Ada (1862- 1944) 5 John (b1864) 6 Caroline (b1866) 7 Emily (b1868) 8 Mary Jane (b1871) 9 John (b1875) 10 Harry (b 1877)
Caroline died in the third quarter of 1880 in Hull, East Yorkshire, England. [3]
