Biography

When Roy Stephen Smith was born on June 20, 1899, in Clark, Illinois, his father, Henry, was 37 and his mother, Sarah, was 31. He married Rose Viola Mennenga on January 24, 1921, in Ackley, Iowa. They had nine children in 18 years. They divorced about 1961. He died on June 22, 1963, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at the age of 64. He is buried at Fairview Cemetery in Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, Iowa.
