Philip Smith is a Project Member of the Military and War subproject Vietnam War

I was born in 1950 in Kansas City, MO to Dr. Donald L. Smith & Phyllis J. Smith. Today, I have four sons, a teacher, a heart surgeon, an aeronautical engineer, and a construction worker.

I have an MBA from the University of Denver but I'm currently retired but own a cattle ranch in Pierson, Florida. It's been my dream to one day own a ranch out west but I somehow ended up in Florida.

I was drafted right out of high school in 1968. Two of us went for physicals and I came back 4F for type 1 insulin dependent diabetes which I've had for 62 years.

I've always felt a certain amount of guilt by not serving even though it was out of my hands. That's why I do what I do today bringing awareness to Florida MIAs through a project titled Florida_Vietnam_War_Casualties. It can found at [1]

Hi Philip, do you have a source for changing the parentage of Gillenwater-58? The census shows her father was Nathan Gillenwater, who I had connected to her originally, and that she was born in Ohio.

Hi Philip!

I found and added some sources for John Lovati and his family. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lovati-2

There was even a death record for one of the twin sons, who lived to be 64. It seems that the name of the family was actually Oliveti or Olivetti.

Hi Philip,

Give me a little time to figure out how to reduce the images sufficiently, and yet have them display correctly.
