Larkin was born in 1760. He passed away in 1834.

Family Bible records; Revolutionary War Pension: Cumberland County, Virginia, deeds and tax records; father's LWT of 1771, Probate 1776: mother's LWT of 1804. Larkin Smith served as a Continental Soldier during the American Revolution. In February 1778, he was stationed at the Valley Forge winter encampment. His granddaughter, Elizabeth Murphy Smith (daughter of Charles Lee Smith, Sr.) married Anthony Garnett Smith, Sr., the grandson of Larkin's brother, Robert Smith, Jr.

Hi, Joel...what you don't see on the Smith-167055 profile is significant, and what you do see is researcher error--the birth and death dates belong to Smith-179812. Smith-167055 married a widow, Elizabeth Green Wade, and died (if I remember correctly) in Louisiana sometime after 1840. The same sort of errors ("statistical doppelgangers") have plagued my Smith family's pedigree for years. The Smith-167055 profile needs clarification with amended birth and death dates or deletion all together to avoid future problems. Kindly refer to the comments posted on Smith-167055......

for Smith-179812 and Smith-167055, other than the "Sr.", I see nothing to indicate that these two persons are different. Please explain the difference here, not in a note to Kevin Greer.
