Biography

Eleanor Smith was born on February 10th 1827 in Compton. She was the daughter of William and Sarah Smith. She was christened on 11 Mar 1827 at St Nicholas' Church in Compton (Anglican). The family's address was given as Compton, and her father's occupation as brickmaker.

Eleanor married Joseph Williams in 1848.

Joseph died on January 20th 1880, aged 62, at his home in Marshall Road, Godalming. He was buried in Nightingale Cemetery, Godalming in the consecrated section.

Eleanor died on September 8th 1896, at her home in Marshall Road, Godalming, aged 69, and was buried the same day with her husband.
