Minnie was born in 1877. She was the daughter of Edmund Smith and Mary Prichard. Her father was a successful dry goods merchant in Halifax. Minnie Louise met Henry Ewart in Halifax and they married in April 1908 both aged 30. It is unknown at present if they had children. They moved to Ottawa, Ontario, his birthplace, where he secured a position as Master of the Royal Mint of Canada. Henry passed away in 1944 and Minnie Louise in 1964.
