Biography

Thomas, son of Giles and Alice, was baptised at Preston on Stour, Gloucestershire on 31 Aug 1603. [1]

In about 1629 he married Katherine Hiron of Westington. Katherine and Thomas had at least six children, some of whom were baptised at Preston on Stour:

  • Susannah (1634)
  • Thomas (1637/38)
  • John (1638)
  • Giles
  • Robert
  • Anne

In 1651 Feoffment from Thomas Smith the younger of Preston-on-Stour yeoman to Thomas Smith the elder (similarly described) of messuages and lands in Preston-on-Stour heretofore bought by Henry Smith (grandfather to both Thomas Smiths) from Ralph Sheldon esq. and Thomas Tayler, 18 June 1651.[2]

Thomas died on 23 Sep 1653 and was buried at Preston on Stour. [3]
