Mary was listed as an heir, wife of Jacob Steel, in Stark County, Ohio, Court of Common Pleas regarding land as her father died without a will and she is listed as an heir in her mother's will. In the family she was known as Elizabeth as her mother was referred to as Mary but her name was Mary Elizabeth."
