Frank was born in Nov 1891 in Evart Township, Michigan to Irish immigrant parents John Cairns Smith and Jane (Davison) Smith, The Smith family returned to Ireland about 1895. Frank enlisted for the service with Canada in WWII enlisting at Vernon British Columbia in June 1915 he declared his occupation as a bank clerk. He was discharged in June 1919. Post war service employer noted on his service file as Imperial Bank of Canada in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Frank was employed in the banking industry in the Dominican Republic and Colombia. Frank married Flora Catanach Morrison in November 1933 in Manhattan, New York. After Flora's death in 1964 Frank remarried Grace Whiting Fowles in Spain in February 1966. Frank died in Monterey, California in July 1978. He is buried at Urgel Bourgie Memorial Gardens in Montreal, Quebec.
