Biography

John Smith immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

John Smith was baptized in New Buckenham, Norfolk, England, 13 October 1632.[1][2][3]

"Aprill 13, 1637. The examinaction of Henry Smith of Newbuckham husbandman, ageed 30 yeares, and Elizabeth his wife, ageed 34 yeares with two children, John and Sethe, ar desirous to passe into New England to inhabitt."[4][5]

I found a letter dated 17 May 1889, from a descendant, John Wilson Smith, who claims descent from "John Smith Sen'r, one of the proprietors of Taunton in 1639, - died 1691, - who married Jael Packer, - to John Jr. - married Mary Godfrey, - to Job, - married Hannah Barney, granddaughter of Rev.
