Muriel was listed as age 4 on the 1921 Census of Canada, the census date was June 1, 1921, therefore her birth date has to be between June 2, 1916 and May 31, 1917
She is living at 15 King Street, Guelph, Ontario with her father and siblings Dorothy and Luella. Her father has remarried, his wife is Mary, two other children are listed, John and Eileen Townshend, probably children from a first marriage for Mrs Mary Smith.
Further research finds a marriage record for her father John William Smith a widower and Mary J Townshend a widow on 17 March 1920 in Galt, Ontario.
