Biography

John Franklin Smith, the son of Alphus Smith and Ellen Adsett, was born 10 Apr 1872 or 1873 in Winterbourne, Ontario, Canada. [1]

On 24 April 1895, license 00992 was issued for Frank Smith and Nellie Tribe to marry in North Dakota. [2] He lived in Olds, Alberta from 1899. [3] [4] Completion of his homestead requirements for SW 1/4 of 36-32-1 W 5th was accepted 9 Jun 1905. The 1906 census shows that their farm stock had grown to 4 horses, 10 milk cows, 29 cattle and 13 hogs. [5] [6] [7] John and Nellie's farm in 1921 was in the newly named Mountain View municipal district, though they had not moved. [8]

John died 27 Apr 1924 in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.[9]
