He and his wife Lucy Hollister had daughters Lucy, Jemima, Dorothy, and Sarah. Lucy's father, David Hollister was the administrator with Lucy in the probate of her late husband.
Lucy married second, Daniel Pratt of East Hartford. They named their sons Manoah b. 1755, and David, b. abt 1760.
Lucy Hollister is called daughter SMITH in the will of her father, David Hollister written about 1753.
In May 1745 the Assembly in Glastonberry settled the "Glassenbury Ferry" on Manoah Smith. This means he was the lawful keeper of the ferry across the Great River between Glastonbury and Wethersfield. It was called Smith's Ferry in 1746 and 1748, when toll rates were raised. His father and grandfather ran the same ferry.[1] [2]
