David Smith b abt 1783/4 RI (1850 Federal Census Smithfield Twp, DeKalb Co, IN) d before 1858 when wife Polly Shedd Smith signed a land deed by herself dated 1859 (10 children: nine b Jefferson Co, NY and one b Huron Co, OH;)Polly and David with nine children are recorded in The Daniel Shed Genealogy book published in 1920. [1]

35 Years, Old Settlers Meetings book has a David Smith that settled in Union, De Kalb County in 1844.
