Biography

Isaiah Smith, son of Christopher and Nancy Smith, was born 15 Aug 1788, in New Jersey. He married Annis Treman on 24 Jan 1810. They had eleven children. He was a Major General in the New York State Militia, superintendent of the Sunday school of the M. E. Church for many years, and an early and prominent member of the Masonic fraternity. He died at Covert, N. Y., on 30 Dec 1870.
