Biography

Nancy was born about 1807, after her father, William Smyth, had migrated from Ireland to Jefferson County, Ohio. There, she met and married Robert Gregg, in 1925. Together, they had six children.

Nancy died young, at 33 years old, in 1840, and is buried at Mount Tabor Methodist Church Cemetery, in Richmond, Jefferson County, Ohio.

Research Notes

The name "Nancy Smith" appears in Bowen (1902, p. 595) and on documents related to her marriage to Robert Gregg, but variously appears as "Smyth" in her Find a Grave memorial, consistent with the spelling on the headstones of her father and siblings.
