Biography

Dollie Smith was born on July 29, 1882, in Pike County, Kentucky, to Nancy Jane Staton and Lindsey Smith.[1]

Circa 1899, Dollie married William Henry Varney.[2] This couple had at least 10 children.[3][4]

Dollie died from cor pulmonale (pulmonary heart disease), due to pulmonary emphysema and chronic bronchitis, on January 14, 1959, in Goody, Kentucky. She is buried in Tom Scott Cemetery, in Toler, Kentucky.[1]
