Stacy was born in the 1960s in Texas. She grew up in West Texas. She was active in the choral program in her high school and won local and state-level awards. She started out her college "career" majoring in music, but eventually received a B. A. in History from Arizona State University. Her focus was on British and Irish history, specializing in the "Irish Troubles" of the late 20th Century.
In the late 1980s Stacy spent a semester in London, UK, where she met her future husband who was also there for a semester. She transferred to Arizona State after that semester. She and Bjørn were married in Texas, and a few months later moved to Colorado where she worked for a time with a medical products company. She left paid work after their son was born, and switched careers to stay-at-home mom. After a couple of years the family moved back to Arizona, and eventually ended up near her parents back in Texas.
Stacy has always loved to hear the stories of family history her parents and grandparents told. She completed a badge in Genealogy in the Girl Scout Cadettes program, but it was not until her adult years, when she had only one grandparent still living, that she realized the need for someone in the family to do the real research and create a reliable family tree. She bought her first membership at Ancestry.com nearly 20 years ago, and began the wild ride of piecing together her mostly British Isles genealogy. It's been on-again, off-again, but she continues to learn and improve her genealogy skills as she goes. She has added her husband's mostly Norwegian family to the tree in recent years. She is currently working with the US Black Heritage on WikiTree, as well as continuing to research and improve her own family's profiles.
I’m conducting the 6-month check in for the US Black Heritage Project. Because we are growing so fast, it’s not always possible for me to see what everyone’s working on.
I’d love to hear what you’ve been working on and if you are still happy being a part of the Profile Improvement team. Members can change teams at any time.

I have you down for 22 profiles for last month. Does that look right? thanks! Emma
Thank you!
My DNA connection for this Thru Line is Shannon Smith, 11 cM over 2 segments. Do you possibly have a connection to Shannon Smith? I don't find William Samuel Brown or Samuel Porter Brown here in Wiki. I realize Thru Lines data requires additional confirmation and wonder if you've come across similar information or connections in your research. I'm unsure whether to continue down this track or disregard it.
Thanks in advance! Suzanne
