Richard Smith was born about March 6, 1771 in St. Bride, Colony of Virginia, son of William Ballard Smith (1740–1777) and Elizabeth Ritchie (~1750–1816).

Richard (23) married Nancy Elitia Combs (22) (born on June 20, 1772 in Warren County, Virginia; daughter of Nancy Euphemia (Grigsby) Combs) in 1795 in Kingsport, TN, USA. Their children were:

I was told by my aunt Sadie Chrisman that Richard was born 7 miles from the ocean. (Atlantic) Sadie is 92 and the great great granddaughter of Richard Smith.

Smith-105457 and Smith-54746 appear to represent the same person because: Hello family! When I was starting a profile for Richard Smith, my great, great, great grandfather, both your profiles popped up as possible matches. On Smith 105457 the death date was off by a month, but the rest of the information is the same...I am sure they are the person... I went ahead and used Smith-54746 for my connection.

Hi, If Richard died in 1936, he would have been 165 years old. Is this a typo in the year of death?
