BIOGRAPHY

ANNA "Anney" "Anny" SMITH, daughter of Henry Smith and Winifred Munsford Holt, was born about 1773 likely in Kentucky.

A marriage bond was posted 11 January 1799 in Campbell County, Kentucky for Anna to marry Thomas Morris. Bondsman was Anna's brother, Jesse Smith. Consent given by her father Henry Smith, and witness was John Colvin. ^[1]

Her father wrote this note giving her permission to marry: "I do hereby certify that I Henry Smith of Campbell Co. have given my consent and am willing for Thomas Morris to marry my daughter Anney as witness my hand and seal. January 11, 1799." "Henry Smith"^[2]

It is given that she married Thomas Morris as his 2nd wife. [Need reference or source to prove.] She died prior to her father writing his will in 1818, as she is given as being deceased as written in Henry Smith will.^[3]

Anny Morris was named in the will of her father, as being deceased, but was to receive Lot 2 containing 54 3/4 acres. From her father's will dated 1818 & probated 1823, we read: "Daughter Anny's children that she had by Thomas Morris when they come of age to have 1/4 of my whole estate."^[4]
