A Letter from Nottingham, dated Jan. 30, says, “On Tuesday Night, about a Quarter before Nine o’Clock, died at his Father’s House in this Town, in the 31st Year of his Age, Abel Smith, jun. Esq; unanimously elected one of our Representatives in Parliament, on the 9th of October last, in the room of the late Sit Charles Sedley, Bart. – The inexpressible Grief of his Family, his Friends, and Domestics, far surpasses the Pen of the most ingenious Writer; suffice it therefore to say, that in him were united the Excellencies of the good Husband and tender Father, the true Patriot and upright Gentleman.”
