The Abner Smith who married Siddy Busbee was not the same Abner Smith who was a son of George Smith and Elizabeth Earls. This can be demonstrated by a comparison of source records.
I do not know which George and Elizabeth Earls Smith were his parents, and am marking his parents as uncertain. Could be George Smith-54592 and Elizabeth Earls-143
Whoops, Under Biography There,s a Wrong Death Date of 20 May 1850 for Abner Wilson Smith. That death date belongs to a 2nd Abner Smith who was married to "Mehetable Fairchild b.1770 - d.3 March 1855"
Gary Hodges can trace Abner Smith, son of George Smith and Elizabeth Earls, from 1800 through 1820. He doesn't appear to have a son Newman Smith. Newman was 20-29 in 1830, making his birthyear somewhere around 1800-1810.
You will find a conflict between the information in the SmithsWorldWide.org Group R-M269-7's contact page and Gaylord and Quentin Smith's line if you examine the following:
Please be careful as I am certain that the Maj. Lawrence Smith/"Customer" Smythe/Arthur Smyth lines are all completely unrelated. I have reached out to the group admin to request a collaborative effort to resolve the accidental mis-attributions in these groups.
Absolom is a brother of Abner born much later in the family. Absolom should be changed to Abner. I believe Absolom is "Solomon" Abner & his brother Solomon we baptist preachers. In Alabama, Tennessee & Texas. See "The Texas Baptist Convention" annual reports articles on "Primitive Baptist Preachers" in Early Texas History.
There is a census showing a "Solomon" being head of household. I suspect his father George was in the Revolutionary War. In the Primitive Baptist report, Abner & Solomon worked together as Pastors setting up Primitive Church's across the South Central U.S.
Was Absalom nickname Abner? The death date of 20 May 1850 seems incorrect because he's buried in Texas at Black Jack cemetery. He was proud of being born on the 4th of July 1781. His brother Solomon were preachers in 3-4 states and Abner open 40 plus Primative Baptist Churches in Texas. I wonder if his biographer has gotten something wrong but not likely, Abner (Absolom) is written up in the The Baptist Convention.
The number of 40 was "hearsay" and looks like a little overblown.
Abner Smith-1 and Smith-97282 appear to represent the same person because: Please merge Abner Smith-1 into Smith-97282. Abner_Smith-1 is an incorrect ID name. Thank you!

Or it could be George Smith-97287 and Elizabeth Earls-201.

They are both claiming descent from the Smiths of Blackmore in Essex, England but they do not match each other.
