I believe George Smith m. Elizabeth Earls is of my yDNA line R-M269-9 on FTDNA. I have found how Walter Smith and Ed Mauldin's research has erred. They are unrelated to each other and to me as well. 3 unique and different yDNA lines.

George Smith needs a LOT of research. For instance where is the proof of his birth year??? On Find-A-Grave (not a trusted site) there are two George Smiths with the same birth DAY and different birth YEARS, but with the same death date. Find you why this is. I will approve no merge until a genuine birth day is established by TRUSTED sources.

Regarding Smith-97287 and Smith-54592, yes there is a problem with the fathers. Not my problem. I simply discovered the possible merge. It's up to the profile owners to resolve this.

Smith-150912 and Smith-54592 have many similarities, but also some differences. Could be for the same person. Needs more research.

The father's are too different. Fix this and then talk about merge.

Smith-215002 and Smith-97287 are not ready to be merged because: George Smith was born 04 Oct 1769 not 1749. Mary Calthrope-138 needs to be added as spouse under Smith-97287

Smith-215002 and Smith-97287 appear to represent the same person because: Walter - these appear to be duplicates also, as does the profile you created for George, son of Robert, two years ago: Smith-150912. Please stop creating duplicate profiles & merge the duplicates you've already created. Thanks.

Walter C Smith - George is supposed a member of my tree. Is there any other GEDmatch that we can compare? My gedmatch is M848299. I'm hoping that a son Abner is correct and not someone else wish to be associated with the Lawrenece Smith Line. Walter Smith Email: [email address removed]

On Find-a-Grave, Abner is also called Absolom. (my spelling is probably wrong) Absolom is listed as a son on many Ancestry sheets, but BOTH find-a-grave and loosely documented Ancestry are NOT trusted sources.
