Elisha was born in 1854. His father was Austin and his mother was Mary.

He was age 16 in 1870, living in Barren Creek, Marion, Arkansas.[1]

He was age 26 in 1880. His wife was Martha A. Smothers, age 32. They had an infant daughter, Rachel E. Smothers.[2]
