He was age 26 in 1880. His wife was Martha A. Smothers, age 32. They had an infant daughter, Rachel E. Smothers.[2]

In 1910 Elisha was age 56 and living in Summit, Marion, Arkansas. His wife was Nancy J. Smothers, age 46 b Ark; daughter Mary A Smuthers was age 9; daughter Jossie Smuthers was age 6; son Austin L Smuthers was age 4; daughter Malinda Smuthers was age 2.[4]
