Smuts-458 and Smuts-312 appear to represent the same person because: It very much looks like these two persons called Maria Elisabeth Smuts were both the daughter of Johannes Smuts and Magdalena Wernich, and married Daniel Denijssen (de Nyssen).

It also looks like the corresponding husbands Daniel Denijssen-2 and Daniel De_Nysschen-75 need to be merged. Daniel was the 'Fiscal' at the Cape, and chief prosecutor at the trial in Worcester after the Houdenbek slave revolt.

Smuts-458 and Smuts-312 do not represent the same person because: Dates do not match. Names do not match. See sources attached to both profiles.

hi Rachel, I see your merge requests coming in, and when I tried to approve the Denijssen merge, it told me you are editing stuff, so I need to wait with that (?).

I don't quite understand your rejection of the Smuts merge, but it seems you are looking into the details. I'm curious what will come out.

Now I notice that you've removed the parents from one, and the husband from the other, which seems like an alternative, that also makes sense.

Hi Nic

I initiated a merge request for Denyssen-36 and Denijssen-2. The profile managers need to approve the merge and then one of them will effect the merge. You are the profile manager of Denijssen-2, so will need to wait for approval from the profile manager of Denyssen-36. The merge between Smuts-458 and Smuts-312 is ‘rejected’ because they are two different people. Different DoB, etc. See the attached sources. Check the baptism registration for LNAB and DoB. Hope this helps.

As I said above, I think your rejection seems correct. Of course the next step is to find the correct parents for the one, and a possible husband for the other.

I'll try if I can now approve your merge request.
